Seriously, why is it that whenever you try to do the right thing, it seems like everything around you goes wrong?

It may be that when we try to do the right thing, we also raise our expectations about good outcomes. If things always go wrong, we tend to lower our expectations for good outcomes. So we may need to keep in mind that no matter how hard we try to make things right, expect that the worse is a possibility. I hope that does not sound pessimistic. Instead I hope that it sounds more realistic. It is all too easy to lose sight of reality when we put on our rose colored glasses, hoping that what we see will be great.
